Best Comic-Con Offsites in 2026

Every year, San Diego Comic-Con raises the bar with immersive offsite experiences, and 2026 may have been the strongest lineup yet. While there were dozens of incredible attractions throughout downtown San Diego, three experiences completely captured my attention and left me wanting to go back again.

If you've been following my coverage on SoCalTravelBlog.com and Instagram (@socaltravelblog), you've probably already seen plenty of photos and videos from these amazing activations. After visiting nearly every major offsite, these are the ones that stood above the rest.

Paramount+ Lodge - Best Comic-Con Offsites

For the third straight year, Paramount+ Lodge proved why it remains one of Comic-Con's premier experiences.

Located at Happy Does Bar, the activation blended multiple Paramount franchises into one seamless adventure. Instead of focusing on a single property, guests could jump from the world of Avatar: Aang – The Last Airbender into Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, stop by South Park, celebrate UFC, and discover several other surprises throughout the experience.

The Lodge also featured themed food and beverages, interactive games, exclusive photo opportunities, and customizable keepsakes, all within a roughly 50-minute visit. What really made this activation special was the atmosphere. Every room felt different, the entertainment never slowed down, and there was always another surprise waiting around the corner.

One of my favorite moments was finishing the experience with the live DJ and celebratory beverage while soaking in the incredible energy. Add in personalized souvenirs, fantastic cast members, and outstanding production values, and it's easy to see why this was my favorite offsite of Comic-Con. See the video on my experience here.

HBO Max's Lanterns Training Headquarters - Best SDCC Offsites

If there was one activation that truly made me feel like I had stepped inside a television series, it was Lanterns.

Rather than simply walking through a collection of photo opportunities, guests became recruits training to join the Green Lantern Corps. The experience featured physical challenges, puzzles, target practice, escape room elements, immersive sets, and outstanding performers who remained in character throughout the adventure. Successful recruits earned an exclusive Green Lantern ring at the end, making the finale especially rewarding.

This wasn't just another walkthrough—it felt like participating in your own superhero origin story.

The attention to detail was incredible, and every room introduced something completely different. From beginning to end, Lanterns delivered one of the most immersive experiences I've attended at Comic-Con. See the video on my experience here.

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe - Best SDCC Offsites

Sometimes an activation completely surprises you. That was exactly what happened with Stuart Fails to Save the Universe.

Walking into Stuart's comic shop immediately set the tone before launching visitors through portals into multiple universes filled with interactive storytelling, memorable character encounters, games, and fantastic photo opportunities. Guests explored alternate realities before discovering which hero archetype matched their personality, finishing with exclusive collectibles and merchandise.

One of my favorite portions of the experience was the character analysis that personalized the ending. Combined with the arcade-style elements, enthusiastic performers, and fantastic storytelling, this activation delivered a unique Comic-Con experience. It was creative, funny, interactive, and easily one of the convention's biggest surprises. Catch the new series on HBO Max every Thursday starting July 23rd.

Honorable Mention: Super Troopers 3

While it didn't have the massive budget of some of the larger studios, Super Troopers 3 deserves a huge shoutout.

Sometimes the simplest activations are the most enjoyable.

Guests could participate in lighthearted games while enjoying complimentary snacks, drinks, and exclusive giveaways. Best of all, the lines were refreshingly short compared to many of the larger offsites, making it an easy stop during a busy Comic-Con schedule. Many attendees praised the efficient staff, free food, fun games, and relaxed atmosphere, making it an underrated favorite of the weekend.

It was a fun, relaxed break from the crowds and proved that you don't need a giant production budget to create an experience fans will remember.

Final Thoughts

San Diego Comic-Con continues to prove that you don't need a convention badge to have an unforgettable weekend.

Whether you're looking for blockbuster immersive storytelling, hands-on adventures, exclusive collectibles, or simply a great time with fellow fans, this year's offsites delivered something for everyone.

For me, Paramount+ Lodge, Lanterns, and Stuart Fails to Save the Universe represented the very best Comic-Con had to offer in 2026, while Super Troopers 3 earned a well-deserved honorable mention for its fun, welcoming atmosphere. I was unable to attend a few other locations but these really stood out amongst the one I did visit.
