Comic-Con Returning Registration: A guide for Returning San Diego Comic-Con Attendees

San Diego Comic-Con fans, it’s time to mark your calendars. Comic-Con International has announced the date for Returning Registration, giving eligible 2026 attendees their first opportunity to purchase badges for next year’s convention.

Comic-Con Returning Registration will take place Saturday, October 17, 2026.

Comic-Con 2027 is scheduled for July 22–25, 2027, at the San Diego Convention Center, with Preview Night on Wednesday, July 21.

Who Can Participate in Comic-Con Returning Registration?

Returning Registration is for attendees who purchased a Comic-Con 2026 attendee badge and did not receive a refund.

If you attended Comic-Con in previous years but did not purchase a 2026 attendee badge, you will not be eligible for the Returning Registration sale. First-time attendees will instead have an opportunity to participate in Open Registration later this fall.

Tip: If you do not see your returning waiting room link you can look for it in you member ID portal.

Comic-Con also has separate registration procedures for professionals, exhibitors, volunteers, press and other groups.

When Is Comic-Con Open Registration?

If you aren't eligible for Returning Registration—or don't manage to purchase a badge during the October sale—there is another opportunity.

Open Registration is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2026.

Open Registration is available to the general public, provided attendees have a valid and confirmed Comic-Con Member ID.

Make Sure Your Comic-Con Member ID Is Ready

If you're hoping to attend SDCC 2027, don't wait until registration day to check your account.

Make sure your Comic-Con Member ID is active and confirmed. If you're planning to purchase badges for friends or family, you'll also need their Member ID information and last names.

Comic-Con allows a registration session to purchase badges for up to three people, although eligibility requirements apply to everyone included in the purchase.

And remember: getting into the online waiting room does not guarantee that you'll receive a badge. Demand for San Diego Comic-Con remains extremely high, so preparation is important.

• October 17, 2026: Returning Registration

• November 14, 2026: Open Registration

• July 21, 2027: Preview Night

While the October registration date has been announced, Comic-Con International is expected to release additional details about the Returning Registration process as the sale gets closer. Just remember not to share unique codes.
