Cassara Carlsbad Review

The Cassara Carlsbad, Tapestry Collection by Hilton is located in the perfect spot for exploring everything in Southern California! Carlsbad is right between San Diego and Orange County and it is home to gorgeous beaches and Legoland California.

CHECK IN

The check-in process was quick and easy. The property is divided into two portions, the Cassara Carlsbad and the Pacific Palisades Resort. The Cassara Carlsbad has its own check -in. The process is clearly labeled and is done with ease. There were several people waiting at the desk to assist us. At check-in we were able to get a map and list of all activities for the week. At check-in you are able to get a parking pass and the parking structure is very easy to navigate.

ROOM

The rooms at the Cassara Carlsbad have recently been remodeled. I love the clean and fresh look. The hotel recently opened 29 Karlsbad Family Suites. We were fortunate to stay in one of the corner suites with a gorgeous view of the pacific ocean and the flower fields. The fields were not in bloom but I would assume that in April the room would be surrounded by the gorgeous flowers.

My favorite feature of the room was the double twin beds in a small interior room - my daughters loved having their own tv in there and they stayed up late watching shows together while I was able to quietly relax in the main room with a plush king all to myself - talk about luxury! The room had a large desk area, a sitting space, a small fridge, and a coffee maker.

PROPERTY

I loved the location of this 12 acre property. It is directly across the street from Legoland with a crosswalk and gated entrance to the park. We enjoyed a night at Brick or Treat - we were able to stay late and really use the entire day at the park. The location is also great for nearby activities like the Carlsbad Strawberry Fields, the Flower Fields, the Carlsbad Lagoon, the Outlet mall, and the beautiful state beaches!

While staying onsite we noticed there were plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy. There were several BBQ stations and picnic areas. In addition to the quiet pool overlooking the coast there was also a family pool that had a water playground perfect for little ones and a spa on the pool deck. There was also an activity center with many programs and fun things for the kids to do throughout the day - they are either free or at a very small fee - which is paid in cash as it is hosted by the Pacific Palisade Property onsite.

I was able to spend some time at the lounge and the outdoor firepit area. It was a lovely place to spend the end of the night. The drinks were fresh and interesting and with several fire pits we were able to find a cozy place to sit just ourselves.

We were visiting from nearby so we had our vehicle but we did see that the property offered shuttle services to activities within 5 miles - the rides just needed to be arranged in advance. This would be great for the beach!

Overall, we had a great time visiting the Cassara Carlsbad Hotel. I will definitely look forward to visiting this property again. I recommend the Karlsbad Family Suite for others traveling with multiple children. The layout makes for a very relaxing and enjoyable retreat. I think anyone looking to make the most of their SoCal trip will enjoy booking the Cassara Carlsbad!

Disclosure: I received a two night stay at this property in order to accurately review the hotel. It was never requested that I state a specific opinion and all comments are my own.
