San Diego is ready to share their pop-culture knowledge with many of our delicious restaurants, bakeries, breweries, and cafes transforming in a Comic-Con hot spot!

barleymash will transform into Area 619, featuring specialty food and drinks, and an invite-only cocktail lounge during Comic-Con, from July 23 - July 26.
Sip on The Mothership ($19), with Patron Blanco Tequila, ube, coconut, and lime, Warp Speed ($17) - Bacardi Rum, pineapple, orgeat, blue curaco, and lime, Close Encounter ($18), made with Grey Goose, melon, lime, mint, and melon balls, or the Galactic Buzz ($18) - Cazadores Reposado, cold brew, coffee liqueur banana cream.
Food specials include the Zoidberg-er ($22), a crab Rangoon-style patty with sweet chili sauce, wonton crisp, and green onion cream cheese spread on a brioche bun with fries, Drax-A-Roni and Cheese ($22) - ale braised pork, salsa verde, Mexican street corn sauce, and tortilla crisps tossed with tajin, and topped with cotija all on mac and cheese, Pizza Planet Pockets ($18), pepperoni pizza empanadas with za sauce, and Experiment 626 AKA Stitch ($14) - peanut butter ice cream and strawberry jam sandwiched between rice crispy treats.
The invite-only cocktail lounge Space Smugglers Cantina will feature exclusive cocktails, galactic vibes, and black market bites. To get in, you’ll have to DM @barleymashsd for the "secret password".
There will also be away swag, prizes, and out-of-this-world goodies throughout Comic-Con! barleymash is located at 600 5th Avenue.

MICHELIN Guide-recognized Cloak & Petal brings sushi and other Japanese-inspired cuisine to downtown’s Little Italy neighborhood with Japanese street art and vibrant hues as a backdrop. During Comic Con week, Executive Chef Robert Cassidy is adding two specialty rolls to the menu:
Spidey Sense Roll – pepper crusted tuna, softshell crab, jalapeno whipped goat cheese, avocado, cucumber, asparagus, chipotle miso, fig compote & shiso
Deadpool Sashimi – pan seared gochugaru albacore, sambal butter ponzu, pickled fresno, salsa macha, shaved red onion, guajillo shio & cilantro
On the drinks side, Bar Director Johnny Perez is adding three specialty cocktails to the menu for the festivities:
Shinobi Logan (Mijenta Blanco Tequila, Shochu, Cucumber, Shiso, Lime, Light Braulio Float) – a bright and refreshing blend of cucumber, shiso, and citrus with subtle herbal depth. Inspired by Logan’s disciplined warrior spirit and his mastery of the shadows during his time in Japan.
Ronin Wolverine (Mijenta Reposado Tequila, Yuzu, Cherry Blossom Tonic, Dash of Tres Tribus Mezcal) – a crisp highball balancing smoky tequila, vibrant yuzu, and delicate floral notes. Inspired by the wandering samurai searching for purpose, honor, and redemption.
Berserker Weapon X (Nikka Whisky, Hine Cognac, Black Sesame Orgeat, Smoked Salt, Chocolate Bitters, Orange Bitters) – a rich and powerful cocktail l ayered with nutty, smoky, and warming flavors. Inspired by the untamed rage of Weapon X and the raw power that lies beneath Wolverine’s control.
Cloak & Petal is located at 1953 India Street. Happy hour is Monday – Friday from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Asa Bakery & Cafe is bringing Studio Ghibli magic to the pastry case with a limited-edition lineup of Totoro-inspired pastries and Makkuro Kurosuke (Soot Sprite) cookies, offering playful, handcrafted treats that blend nostalgia with Japanese bakery artistry.

Bar Kamon is stepping into a whimsical, cinematic cocktail lineup inspired by beloved animated worlds. Highlights include the “Spirit of the Forest” (brown butter bourbon, allspice, lemon, maple cold foam), the bright “Ponyo Loves Sosuke” (reposado tequila, orange liqueur, spirulina, lime), and the rich “The Upside Down” (rye, amaro, sweet vermouth, chocolate orange foam).
Relic Bakery, in collaboration with Tailored Hair and Sneaky Fox Records, is hosting a Pokémon-themed event on Friday, July 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., complete with specialty Pokémon-inspired pastries available all weekend.

Cafe de l’Opera is bringing a playful, French twist to the fandom with its Comic-Con exclusive Poke Puffs, delicate choux pastry creations inspired by the Pokémon universe. Available in flavors like Sweet, Mint, Citrus, Mocha, and Spice, these elevated treats come in Frosted, Deluxe, and Wish tiers, offering a whimsical way to “feed your inner Pokémon.”

Beshock Ramen is channeling kaiju energy with a Godzilla-inspired sake and ramen pairing, bringing together warming, umami-rich ramen bowls alongside curated sake pours designed to match the intensity of the iconic monster himself.
The Blind Burro is going intergalactic with an alien-themed celebration featuring an “Out of This World Margarita” paired with a galaxy shot, plus a high-energy outer space dance party with a live DJ on Saturday night.
Tajima Ramen will offer sake flights and potential happy hour specials throughout the weekend—perfect for fueling up between Comic-Con adventures.
East Village Tavern & Bowl is hosting a COSPLAY Music Video Bingo night on Saturday, July 25 at 7:00 p.m., where guests in costume receive a complimentary second set of bingo cards and a featured welcome drink.
