What you should know:

Holidays Made Here is included in any tour fee. If you book an earlier tour, you’ll be able to spend more time in Stars Hollow. We booked an 11 o’clock time and the standard tour took about 70 minutes. We were able to explore a few outdoor spaces and then we toured two sets. We saw the set of “Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage” as well as “Joanne” set which is a new show in production.

At the end of the tour, you are dropped off at the Central Perk Café where there are several spaces to explore on your own. You’ll be able to see a set from “Friends” as well as “Big Bang Theory”. You also have an opportunity to do the Harry Potter photo experiences. This is also where you will have access to a full restroom. Portable units are also located in the experience area. Once you’re done here, you directly walk into Stars Hollow!

In Stars Hollow, you will find the façade of Lorelai’s house, Lorelai‘s jeep, and Miss Patty’s studio. Just around the corner you will find Sookie‘s house, the Independence Inn, and the Dragonfly Inn. Next-door to the Dragonfly you will find the Stars Hollow tour meeting location, this tour takes you on a walk around the town and gives you some insight into the shooting of the television show.

In the center of town, you will find the iconic gazebo as well as Stars Hollow High, Doose‘s market, several other recognizable stores and last but at least you will get to visit Luke’s diner! The line for Luke’s Diner is probably the longest you will encounter. I recommend heading here first if you have an earlier tour time that will save you a lot of waiting. When you are in line for Luke’s Diner, you will have the opportunity to order food that you will pick up after you do photographs outside of Luke’s.

You exit Luke’s Diner into a Mercantile where you can explore a lot of Gilmore Girls memorabilia and merchandise. Many people were looking for the team Dean, team Logan and team Jess buttons, you will find those at any location that displays them at the register. They are included with any purchase, but you need to ask.

You can also decorate cookies at Sookie’s house until 2:30 PM each day. At 3 PM each day you can participate in the costume contest. There are three winners, and you can even enter as a team or a pair, I don’t know what the prizes were, but the people who received them did seem quite happy! At 3 o’clock you can also step int the Secret Bar as seen on the “Year in the Life” series revival. The space fills up quickly so get there about 15 minutes before.

Once we were done exploring Stars Hallow we went to exit, saw how incredibly long the line was and turned around for refreshments for the line. We grabbed a couple smoothies and a Founders Day punch. It worked out perfectly and we finished just as the line ended. We spent some time exploring the DC and Harry Potter Area where you can be sorted into a Hogwarts house and make potions! The experience ends with a visit to the WB Store where you can pick up any last minute souvenirs.

Overall, I think the tour has excellent value and with the addition of Holidays Made Here it’s hard to pass up. I will want to return if they do it next year. It just seems to get better each time!
