Fandom Party - Comic-Con 2026

There are plenty of amazing parties and offsite events happening during San Diego Comic-Con, but the Fandom Party has consistently been one of my favorites—and this year's event was another fantastic night of music, gaming, giveaways, photo opportunities and, most importantly, good vibes.

Held at FLOAT at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego, the annual Fandom Party brought fans together for an energetic night celebrating what we love about entertainment and pop culture. The 2026 party was the ninth annual Fandom Party and featured an incredible lineup of experiences.

For me, the best part of the Fandom Party is that it doesn't feel like just another Comic-Con event. It feels like a celebration with friends—with something fun happening around every corner.

The Coverups Rocked the Fandom Party

One of the biggest highlights of the evening was The Coverups, the high-energy cover band featuring Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong.

The band brought the perfect soundtrack to the night, with a fun mix of classic rock, punk and alternative favorites. The energy from the crowd was incredible, and it was hard not to sing along and dance.

The Coverups are exactly the kind of band you want at a Comic-Con party: familiar songs, huge energy and a performance that gets everyone involved.

And this year's performance had an extra surprise when Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson joined Billie Joe Armstrong and The Coverups on stage, making an already memorable night even more unforgettable.

Step Into the Halo Universe

Gaming fans had plenty to be excited about as well.

The party was presented by Xbox's Halo: Campaign Evolved, giving guests the opportunity to get hands-on with the game before its official July 28 launch. The dedicated Halo play zone was one of the night's standout activities.

I loved getting to jump into the Halo gameplay, and the experience was made even better by the themed photo opportunity. It was the perfect combination of gaming and Comic-Con fun—and definitely something fans wanted to check out.

Photo Opportunities Everywhere

Of course, no Comic-Con party would be complete without plenty of opportunities to capture the night.

The Halo-themed photo experience gave fans a chance to step into the world of the game and grab a fun souvenir photo. The -196 experience also provided colorful, Instagram-worthy moments inspired by Japanese convenience-store culture.

Between the activations, the party atmosphere and all of the unique details throughout the venue, there was no shortage of things to photograph.

Giveaways

The Fandom Party also delivered plenty of fun surprises and giveaways.

The -196 Vodka Seltzers sponsored giveaways and brought their colorful Freeze Point experience to the party. The activation was inspired by Japanese konbini culture and featured fruit-forward seltzer flavors, adding another playful element to the evening.

Another favorite was the Fans Work Tour customizable hats, which gave guests the opportunity to personalize their own hat. It's exactly the kind of interactive experience that makes a Comic-Con party memorable because you leave with something that feels uniquely yours.

The Good Vibes Were Everywhere

What really stood out to me about this year's Fandom Party was the atmosphere.

There was a great mix of fans, creators, celebrities, influencers and entertainment insiders, but the overall feeling was simply fun. Everyone was there to celebrate fandom, enjoy the music, play games, take photos and have a great night.

That's why the Fandom Party remains one of my favorite events during San Diego Comic-Con.

It's not just about one activation or one performance. It's the entire experience.

Will the Fandom Party Return for Comic-Con 2027?

Final Thoughts

The Fandom Party at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 was everything I hoped it would be: great music, Halo gameplay, fun photo opportunities, giveaways, customizable hats and an incredible atmosphere.

From rocking out with The Coverups to playing Halo and enjoying the -196 experience, there was always something happening.

And once again, it proved why the Fandom Party is one of my favorite events of San Diego Comic-Con.
