Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina offer a fantastic location for family fun in San Diego. Located just minutes from SeaWorld San Diego, Belmont Park, and exceptional beaches. This is a destination location!

The property was quite large and offered a variety of accommodations. We stayed in the Bay building which offered a collection of suites and waterfront rooms. There was also the tower building with additional accommodations and great views.

We enjoyed our room view and felt at home in the location. We were in a two-queen suite with a Marina view. It featured a bedroom with two queens, a Marina balcony, a full bathroom, and a living room. The living room space was extremely handy since we were traveling with our 14 and 16-year-old daughters and it included a large sectional with a pullout bed. The bathroom was located between the bedroom and the family room, which was helpful for access to those staying in the living room area and those in the bedroom area. I loved waking up to the beautiful marina each morning. There were always seals and pelicans waiting to greet us!

A couple of things I would mention that were a bit of a downside to our visit was self- parking was very difficult on the weekend nights. Valet is only a few dollars more and that can take care of parking for you. Also, our room walls were thin and we had one loud night with a baby next door, but with a family centered property it’s likely to happen. Overall, it did not impact the enjoyment of the visit.

The expansive property offered the two accommodation buildings, a separate lobby, as well as a lawn area that featured a variety of family games and picnic areas. The pool space was quite large. It had a wading pool, two waterslides and a larger lounging/lap pool area. Additionally, the hotel offered a luau during our summer visit! The luau was on the western facing lawn and it was a beautiful space for watching the sunset at the end of the luau. Take a look at my reel featuring the Luau. You can also book a visit to the Luau without staying on property. Use Code MAHALO10 to save on your tickets!

Additionally, there was a marketplace which offered Starbucks coffee, and a variety of snacks and helpful items. There were also two restaurants on site. The Pelican was a poolside dining option with a bar and the Red Marlin was a full restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and a full bar area.

The hotel had a lot of fun activities going on while we were there. We attended the Rhythms of the Pacific Luau, which had very good food and a lot of fun for the family. The show was great and it’s definitely a lovely way to celebrate summer or even a birthday! The hotel also offered s'more kits in the evening, and they had a very large fire pit that appeared to look like a lava flow! The kids enjoyed it, and the s’mores were a lot of fun. Also, on the weekend they offered movies by the pool. When we were there, it was the minions. The property also included the use of kayaks and bikes, one per day per their property Resort fee. The fee also included bottomless soft drinks for kids and use of the picnic area and games for all guests.

The property seemed to really go above and beyond to be family friendly, and you could tell that they were focused on accommodating families in town to experience all that San Diego and Mission Bay has to offer. Consider booking your next family vacation or staycation at The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina.

The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina provided accommodations and tickets to the luau for a full review, all opinions are my own.
