Downtown San Diego is known for its eclectic and well-rounded dining experiences! With such a wide selection, sometimes it’s hard to narrow down where to eat, especially for breakfast! It's time to stop looking and start heading to Maryjane's Diner.

I’m in downtown San Diego for breakfast quite often and especially during Comic-Con. I’m always looking for a great place to start out my day. Maryjane's Diner has been a go to for the past few years. Recently Maryjane’s, located in the Hard Rock Hotel, has updated their menu. I had the opportunity to come in and sample a few dishes off that new menu.

Maryjane's has taken this opportunity to expand and refine some of those classic breakfast dishes. I highly recommend checking out the "Pour Some Sugar on Me" portion of the menu. Here you will find some very traditional breakfast items but with a twist. You can add a churro and cream topping to any dish. I decided to try the Brioche French Toast, and I have to tell you the churros and the cream topping absolutely elevated this dish!

I also had the chance to try the Carne Asada Benny, that was my favorite! I love a good Eggs Benedict, but this was over the top excellent! I cannot wait to come back here and try this again. Along with a benny, I had a Strawberry Fields mocktail, which was a perfect way to start the day.
In addition to their regularly available menu, you can find a secret menu! On this menu, I tried the PB and J Waffle Sandwich, it was peanut butter and jelly sandwiched between two perfectly prepared waffles. The waffle was topped with a berry drizzle and stacked neatly for your enjoyment.

I also recommend checking out their shakes. They have a wide variety and options. I had already had several dishes to try so the shake did not make it onto my table this time, but definitely looking forward to that!
Again, with so many different options in the San Diego Gaslamp area it’s hard to find a dependable option but over the years Maryjane's Diner has been a solid choice and with their new menu it’s time to visit again. It's rock and roll meal at a price that won't break the bank!
Thank you to the Hard Rock Hotel for inviting me to try their new menu to share my experience. Take look at my reel below on my visit.
