Newly opened in the San Diego Gaslamp Quarter, the Museum of Illusion is a fun thing to do in San Diego. This activity is well suited for all ages and offers a fun way to interact with each other and get creative!

The museum features mind-bending exhibits and a great look at trick photography. Similar styles of photography and filming are used in major motion pictures like The Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park, and the original Start Wars Trilogy. The use of forced perspective and mirrors sets up museum goers for a collaborative experience. Follow along with the tips and tricks mounted next to the exhibit or try something new.

We spent about one hour here and had a great time going through the 2 levels of exhibits. The puzzles were a lot fun and best suited for a slower pace of exploration. We didn't try all the puzzles, but I think if we had it would have been closer to a 90-minute experience. Our favorite part was the house on the floor, the mirror above was perfect to give you the zero-gravity look! We kept going back and coming up with new ideas.

The Museum of Illusions is Located at 665 Fifth Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101
