Christmas Time at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Christmas time at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter has been a wonderful tradition that our family has celebrated since the land opened in Universal Studios Hollywood. The decorations during Christmas time are one of my favorites during the holidays. The aesthetics transport you to Hogwarts. If you are a Harry Potter fan you will definitely want to incorporate this into your family traditions! Even better, if you live in Southern California, you should take part in the California Neighbor pass!

Decorations

The decorations make you feel as if you are celebrating the holidays with Harry Potter and the rest of Hogwarts crew! The decorations are an important part of Christmas time at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The area is always snow covered which immediately starts to bring the holiday feeling to you. In addition to the snowcapped buildings there is holly and garlands throughout the area helping spread that Christmas cheer. Also, I definitely recommend picking up an interactive wand at Ollivander’s so that you can participate in all of the fun magic spots throughout the wizarding world. Your young wizard will have a chance to make items move, unlock doors, and subdue dragons!

Holiday Shows

Special attention to the shows and programming help spread the holiday cheer! Some touches that make it especially Christmassy during this time of year are the shows that feature holiday themes like the frog choir. This is an adorable show that features Hogwarts students and their frog pets singing a cappella Christmas Carols. The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle are truly a treat, I recommend watching one of the later shows. The viewing area is not as crowded, and this makes for an enjoyable experience. Holiday Dinning

The food is not to be missed at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I definitely enjoy the English breakfast meal at The Three Broomsticks! I feel that breakfast is the best time to dine at the Three broomsticks. The lines are usually very short and if you have the Universal Express Pass you will not have to be racing around trying to get in all the lines before everyone arrives. Overall, this makes for a much more enjoyable experience at the park. I also recommend returning at the end of the day for dessert. My favorite thing at the Three broomsticks is the sticky coffee pudding. It is served warm and topped with ice cream. The ice cream melts down into the rich and it becomes a symphony of vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon making for a perfect dessert. It's also, stop in at the Hog's Head Pub and grab one of their holiday drinks or a classic Butterbeers. This will definitely hit the spot!

Overall, I have to say that Universal Studios Hollywood and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter have become one of my favorite traditions during the holiday season. I feel that especially this year the park has done so much to really decorate and staff the park so that it is an enjoyable time for everyone. I have not necessarily seen the same staffing and level of effort in decorations at other parks. I think that says a lot about the way that they treat their staff and prioritize the experiences of their guests. I would definitely recommend spending some of your holiday vacation at Universal Studios Hollywood! Be sure to checkout my full Universal Studios Hollywood review on Trekaroo!
